AJ first learned to ski at Parnassos Mountain, where his father ran a ski school in his native Greece. He also spent time in Austria before relocating to Vermont so he could attend the Green Mountain Valley School, one of the nation’s premier ski academies. In 2012, he was invited to join the U.S. Development Team and moved to Park City, Utah, to train at the U.S. Ski & Snowboard’s Center of Excellence (COE).
The former U.S. Ski Team athlete’s breakout season came in 2016, as he took home his first U.S. national title in slalom at Maine’s Sugarloaf Resort. AJ is currently recovering from knee surgery, but he expects to return to the race circuit after the 2018–19 season.
